Pragmata Finally Gets a Release Date After Years of Silence

Capcom confirms Pragmata will launch in 2027, sharing new gameplay footage of the ambitious sci-fi action adventure.

20 April 2026

After years of delays and radio silence, Capcom has finally confirmed a release window for Pragmata, the ambitious sci-fi action adventure first announced back in 2020. The game is now targeting a 2027 release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

What Is Pragmata?

Pragmata follows a lone astronaut and a mysterious young girl as they navigate a dystopian near-future Earth and beyond. The game blends exploration, puzzle-solving, and action in environments that shift between hyper-realistic cityscapes and surreal, otherworldly landscapes.

New gameplay footage shown during the reveal demonstrates the game's scale — players traverse crumbling urban environments, zero-gravity space stations, and alien terrains, using a suite of advanced tools and gadgets to interact with the world.

A Long Road to Release

Originally announced with a 2022 release date, Pragmata was delayed multiple times with little explanation. Capcom has now confirmed the project underwent a significant creative overhaul, expanding its scope from a linear adventure to a more open-ended experience with multiple narrative paths.

Why It Matters

Pragmata represents one of Capcom's most ambitious projects outside of its established franchises. For retailers, the combination of Capcom's brand recognition and years of built-up anticipation could make this a sleeper hit when it finally arrives.
